District news
Superintendent's contract extended to 2029 and salary set at $243,698
What happened
After rating Superintendent Rody Boonchouy's performance satisfactory, the board approved Amendment No. 4 to his employment agreement. It sets his yearly base salary at $243,698 and extends his contract by one more year, from June 30, 2028 to June 30, 2029. The board also paid him for eight extra days worked in 2025-26 at his daily rate of $1,051.56, a total of $8,412.48.
Why it matters to families
The superintendent is the district's top administrator, so how long he is under contract tells families who will be leading the schools through the November 2026 bond measure and the district's Graduate Profile changes. It also means no superintendent search is expected for the next three years.
The evidence
The June 25, 2026 approved minutes record the satisfactory closed-session evaluation, Amendment No. 4 with the $243,698 base salary, the extension of the contract term to June 30, 2029 effective July 1, 2026, and the unanimous votes on both the amendment and the extra-days payment.
