District moved a school bond measure onto the November 2026 ballot

What happened

The July 23, 2026 regular meeting agenda carried an action item to approve a Long Range Facilities Plan resolution ordering an election for a school bond measure on November 3, 2026. The district had been building toward this through the year: in January 2026 the board approved agreements with the Lew Edwards Group and True North Research, and in April it ratified an agreement for bond counsel and disclosure counsel services.

Why it matters to families

A school bond is money for buildings that local property owners pay back over decades, and it only happens if voters say yes. If it passes it funds the construction the district has been planning, including a new elementary school and a rebuild at Mt. Whitney High School. Voters in the district decide this on November 3, 2026.
