Board adopts the 2026-27 budget and moves to sell another round of 2014 bonds
What happened
The June 23, 2026 agenda carried the year's two biggest money items together. Resolution 25-88 adopts the 2026-27 final budget for all funds, which state law requires by June 30, and Resolution 25-87 authorizes spending from the Education Protection Account. Resolution 25-91 authorizes issuing and selling general obligation bonds from the 2014 election as the 2026 Series D. The same meeting adopted the 2026-2027 update to the district's Local Control and Accountability Plan and the 2026-2029 Expanded Learning Opportunities Program plan.
Why it matters to families
The budget is the money that pays for teachers, buses and meals for the whole year, and the LCAP is the plan that says what the extra state money for high-need students is supposed to buy. The bond series is separate: it is borrowing voters already approved in 2014, drawn down in stages, and it pays for construction rather than day-to-day costs.
The evidence
Item 14.8 of the June 23, 2026 agenda is 'Adoption of Resolution No. 25-88, Adoption of the 2026-27 Final Budget for All Funds', item 14.13 is Resolution 25-91 authorizing the issuance and sale of general obligation bonds, 2014 Election, 2026 Series D, and items 12.2 and 12.19 adopt the 2026-2027 LCAP annual update and the 2026-2029 ELOP plan.
