Chandler principal promoted to assistant superintendent

What happened

On June 10, 2026 the School Committee appointed Dr. Erin Wiesehahn, until then principal of Chandler Elementary School, as assistant superintendent, on the superintendent's recommendation and after a screening committee process.

Why it matters to families

The assistant superintendent leads curriculum and instruction for all four schools, and Chandler needs a new principal as a result. Two committee members raised concerns about how the search was run, saying the screening group would have benefited from a clearer discussion of what the role most needed and from more clarity about how candidates were ranked.
