Board reopens the 2027 budget in August and adopts a revised version

What happened

The board adopted the FY 2027 Combined Funds budget on Feb. 19, 2026 and the final version on June 11, 2026, then adopted a revised FY 2027 Combined Funds budget on Aug. 27, 2026. At the same meeting it postponed the FY 2028 budget development calendar again, to Sept. 10, 2026, after that calendar had already been pulled from the consent calendar at the July 9 organizational meeting.

Why it matters to families

Reopening an adopted budget two months into the school year means the money available for staffing and programs changed after schools had already planned around it. The repeated delay to the next year's budget calendar means the schedule for building the 2028 budget is still unsettled.
